History
Founded in 1968, Bacchus first rolled in 1969 with Hollywood star Danny Kaye as its inaugural celebrity king - breaking old-line tradition by crowning an outsider and opening its ball to the public. It helped launch the super krewe era.
Where to watch
The classic Carnival corridor, and where nearly every major parade rolls. Most line up Uptown, head down St. Charles Avenue under the oaks, and finish on Canal Street downtown.
