History
Founded in 1917, Iris is the oldest female Carnival krewe, though it did not parade until 1959. Today it is one of the largest parades in Carnival, with well over a thousand riders. Members traditionally ride in white gloves and masks.
Where to watch
The classic Carnival corridor, and where nearly every major parade rolls. Most line up Uptown, head down St. Charles Avenue under the oaks, and finish on Canal Street downtown.
